The first Combat Athletix Grappling Expo was held Saturday at the National Guard Armory on Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville. The event went off very well for our first event and we can't wait to build on the experience to produce an even better event next time!
A big thank you goes out to everyone that helped us with the event!

Combat Athletix Fight Team Represents at Reality Combat Championships III
Polar Bear and Jesse Lawrence, representing the Combat Athletix Fight Team, both fought in the Reality Combat Championships III at the UNF Arena. This was a professional show, with Polar Bear making his pro debut and Jesse fighting his fourth professional MMA fight. Both fought hard and made everyone at Combat Athletix proud.
Please congratulate both fighters if you see them around the gym and make sure they know that Combat Athletix is behind them all the way.
- Polar Bear fought Michael King, a huge heavyweight from American Top Team. The fight was a brawl from start to finish, with Polar Bear getting the TKO victory from a doctor stoppage between the 2nd and 3rd round as a result of a broken nose.
- Jesse lost a decision against Felipe Portella, a Chute Boxe standout, even though he constantly took Portella down and dominated position on the ground. Everyone in the arena felt that Jesse was robbed and they showed it with boos when the decision was announced. That being said, both Jesse and Felipe fought hard and deserve to be commended. Jesse was very respectful and showed great sportsmanship after the fight.
Please congratulate both fighters if you see them around the gym and make sure they know that Combat Athletix is behind them all the way.
